Why? It's one of those cerebral movies about dystopian future. Plus, I like Philip K. Dick.
See the reasoning up above. This is one of the first sci-fi movies I ever remember watching as a kid outside of Star Wars and Star Trek. It made it's mark on me.
I like 99.9% of Ridley Scott's work. I loved the hell out of this movie as a kid, so much so that I actually wore out the VHS tape. Not to mention, Tim Curry was brilliant as Darkness.
